One of my favorite things about Western Oregon is that no matter which direction you go there is something to see and do.

When we were in China we lived right on the coast, we could see the beach from our apartment window. One day I remember Todd saying “I wouldn’t mind living by the ocean...” Now we’re in Oregon less than 50 miles from the nearest beach! The Oregon coast is easily one of the most beautiful coasts I’ve seen. One second you’re in the mountains, the next you’re pulling up to the beach.

When we go to the beach we usually bring
• Books
• Cooler with lunch
• Towels
• A toy for Phoebe
• Sunglasses
• Jackets (the Oregon coast is very chilly)

At the end of the day we will occasionally stop at a local restaurant for fish and chips. Fish and chips is one of those dishes that bring back all the best memories. And how could you go wrong with a little lemon juice and vinegar on top?

Phoebe loves to dig dig dig in the sand! I love when she looks up at me with her little sandy nose. She’s strangely afraid of the ocean so we usually watch Todd venture out into the waves. The ocean is a tad bit too chilly for me, but Todd likes to see how long he can withstand it!
